Israel is a vulnerable country by it's demographics and by the countries that surround Israel that are unfriendly to Israel as a Jewish country. There is significant damage and fatalities. Netanyahu has declared war. Israel has just been attacked by Hamas and some forty people are dead. https://justthenews.com/world/middle-east/surprise-attack-israel-gaza-saturday-morning-rockets-and-terrorist-infiltration

Palestinian terrorists in Gaza launched a stunning attack against Israel on Saturday with rockets and ground forces, inflicting significant casualties and prompting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to declare “we are at war.”

At least 40 people were reported killed inthe initial volley as Hamas forces focused on southern and central Israel, and infiltrated the town of Sderot, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.

”We are at war,” Netanyahu declared in a televised address. “Not an ‘operation,’ not a ‘round,’ but at war.

The news about the Israel attack is horrifying....so many deaths, so many captured, tortured and held hostage. I won't discuss the terrifying details, however, the fact that this happened, despite the Iron Dome, despite Israeli Intelligence (Mossad), that this significant planned assault coordinated with Hamas and Hezbollah was able to penetrate the country in unexpected and precession attack on Israeli's and property.

This attack wasn't limited to Israel, there were also innocent Palestinians in the crosshairs too. War is ugly and terrifying.

Here are some key points in this op-ed about the attack on Israel. I think we should not forget the US just gave Iran 6B dollars and Hamas and Hezbollah are the terror arms of Iran.

It's hard to not read the news to try to avoid getting updates on what's happened in Israel because of the terror attack by Hamas; the news is everywhere. I've seen pictures that I didn't intend to see, and it's truly heart breaking how these animals have taken innocent people and what they have done to them.

I don't have faith that there are any news organization reporting on this event without biased either. I've looked at both; there's pro-Palestinian's and pro-Israel. Why can't it be Pro-Peace? Why are humans born with this innate violence gene?

I realize there is a lot of history between both and I'm not judging either side as what I'm mostly seeing is death and destruction towards innocent people on both sides of this war until there's someone that can broker peace between the Israeli's and Palestinians.

To better understand the war in Israel, sometimes you have to dive deep into the history without any bias to grasp the whole picture.

I didn't realize Gaza was ruled by Humas since 2007.

The group was founded in 1987 by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, a Palestinian refugee living in Gaza, during the first intifada, or uprising, which was marked by widespread protests against Israel’s occupation.

Saw more news and each day what is being reported is more horrifying than the day before. What happened to humans being able to rise above war and use negotiating skills to compromise and avoid war? I know some of those answers but they may too controversial to discuss openly.

There's too much that can go wrong at this point with Hezbollah at the border and I just read the leader of Hamas, Khalid Mashal, has called on Muslims Worldwide to rise up on Friday the 13th.

My husband has a saying, "Compassion kills"...meaning the moment you let your guard down is the moment you put yourself at risk....much like the Israeli's intelligence did. They let their guard down trusting that the Palestinian people that were afforded work permits into Israel had no interest in war, but meanwhile Hamas was openly preparing to attack Israel for months.

This is the other side of war. It's human nature to make judgements and choose which side of the political aisle you stand on. My post is not about right and wrong choices, but about reminding people that war is hell and no matter what country is involved there are tragedies that befall innocent people on both sides. The non-Hamas Palestinians are in the heart of this war too, without water, food, electricity or a safe haven shelter right now. Yes, Israel was bombed, terrorized, and horrible acts where taken upon the Israelis, but just across the Gaza strip, there is suffering of another kind too.

Where are the peacemakers? Where are the negotiators for Israel and the terrorist group Hamas? Right now, it's war, retaliation and any kind of devastation? Now Hezbollah is bombing from Lebanon at the north side of Israel.

“There is never a Plan B here,” said 31-year-old Maha Hussaini, as she watched terrified Rimal residents flood her Gaza City neighborhood further south just as bombs began to fall there, too. Israel accuses Hamas of endangering Gaza’s civilian population by placing weapons and missile launchers in densely populated areas. It also accuses them of using civilians as human shields. So far, the Gaza toll stands at about 700 dead and thousands wounded, according to Gaza health officials, a punishing response to the militant group’s attack that has killed over 900 Israelis. More than 150 Israeli civilians and soldiers have been taken captive.

The funding of 6B dollars that was to go to Iran has been frozen again after numerous world wide protests.

Another view of the misinformation of the war between Israel and Hamas.

    [url=https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2023/israel-hamas-war-misinformation/?utm_source=pocket-newtab-en-us]https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2023/israel-hamas-war-misinformation/?utm_source=pocket-newtab-en-us

But in the days since Hamas militants launched an Oct. 7 attack on Israel, the deadliest in years, online misinformation has distorted the facts around the conflict.

Outdated and fictional images and videos are being characterized as if they are from Israel and Gaza.

As if the real toll was not enough: At least 2,200 people in Israel and Gaza have been killed in the attacks, The Associated Press reported Oct. 11. The death toll includes at least 22 Americans and over a dozen more unaccounted for.

Politicianshave clouded the information environment with unproven claims that U.S. taxpayer money and a recent deal with Iran funded the massacre.

Here are the viral misleading claims about the conflict that PolitiFact has fact checked so far.

When I started this thread, I had hopes that in a short time Israel and Hamas would come to a peace agreement, instead the war between Hamas and Israel has taken a turn for the worse and my heart is heavy with the loss of life for the Israelis and Palestinian people. I don't even want to add links, as they have terrible pictures and this whole war is a tragedy for human life on both sides.
