    10 Most Underrated American Cars Of The '70s And Why We'd Buy Them

    The 1970s were an interesting time for American cars. With the emissions regulations coming as a result of the oil crisis, performance was strangled. This meant that the era of traditional muscle cars that had been so popular and prevalent in American car culture in the '60swas coming to an end. As a result, most cars produced in America during the '70s were not highly rated among consumers and enthusiasts and slid under the radar.

     

    I was a little bit too young to recall the "energy crises" from the 1970's, but old enough to be sitting in the car in a line to get gas with my dad....often. Oh and I wanted a pink Gremlin when I was old enough to drive. 

    Funny, now that I'm reading this article I'm seeing parallels in our present day energy crises. What will our energy crises look like in another 40 years? I suppose I won't see it, but there's a teachable moment here....know your history, so you can learn from the past to make for a better future and this suits just about anyone's perspective.
