Found this link today for 50 best action movies. I agreed with some and some movies I'd have listed in different places, overall a good list with even some older black and white movies included.

Fifty Best Action Movies- Do you agree or what is missing from the list?

Have you seen all of these movies? I believe I've seen all of them with exception of some of the older movies. We're true action movie fans at my house.

I didn't go through all the list, yes I agree with some, I don't agree with the top 5, Aliens and Kill Bill would be up there for me but what I find about these sort of lists is they are based solely on one person or a small group of people who compile them based on their opinions and age. I don't think you could really put together a true list like this without a vote or poll of some kind, but with that many movies out there I think that would be impossible!

Totally agree....as I looked at the list I felt the same about the order such as why they picked Rambo 2 but not Rambo 1...what's the difference? These movie franchises are all variation of the same theme, just a tweak here and there but the same character journey. James Bond at #50 The Spy Who Loved Me, yet the Warriors at #41 which was a ragtag of a movie and not of the production as a James Bond movie. Yeah, you're so right, now you got me going on evaluating this list from Variety. I was glad though to see Jackie Chan's Policy Story and Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon on the list. We are huge martial art's fan, the old and the new both. I would have put Die Hard #1 rather the Road Warriors at number one. Aliens by virtue is just a classic now and any list dictates you have to add it somewhere, but some people may not care for it and is it action or horror, to me it's science fiction/horror. But as you say it's really a personal compilation and needs more input in polling, review data and actual movie ticket sales to see how these moves in reality fared as favorites.

I'm not sure if you could do it based on actual movie ticket sales as cinemas have been in decline really since videos and then DVD's came out. I for one, and I know some others who have not been to the cinema for along time, and here in the UK we have cinemas closing down! I for one now wait for movies to come out on DVD, it's cheaper than the cinema and I can play them when ever I want!

Very true....we haven't been to the cinema in years. When Colorado had the mass shooting at the cinema, that was kind of it for us.

We also wait for movies to come to our living room too. It's so much nicer in your own living room, but then I get the younger generation that enjoys going to movies for something to do and capturing that epic fun time with friends.

Sorry to hear you have cinema's closing down. We probably do too and I just haven't been keeping up.

I think the only way to get an accurate picture of something like this is to maybe get 100s if not 1000s of people from around the globe of different age groups to put together their top 50, then collate that data, then put it out to a vote/poll.

Yeah, great idea. I wonder if there's a website that exists that does that on a large scale ...like totally devoted to polling data for all sorts of subjects and not a media website, just a website designed to offer statistics based on their members results etc.

Oh my word, it would be a mammoth task for even the biggest media company I should imagine! One website, I have no idea?

Lol....you know it's always tempting for a webmaster to come up with a new idea....but yeah....it would be colossal wouldn't it?
